Today, we finished up a bunch of wedding projects...before we started, there were so many boxes in my room that even Lola and Zoe didn't know what to do! We were also tripping everywhere. It was a dangerous situation, so we knew it was time to put things together and clear stuff out of the room.
At the end of the day, I cooked dinner, and the whole family went for a walk afterwards. No question about it: this is the calm before the storm. We're expecting 12 arrivals on Tuesday, including Brendan's family, so then the fun really begins! We are definitely ready.
At times, I felt like July 2013 would never get here, but as of 20 minutes ago, it is. I'm happy, and it also feels surreal. Is this really happening?! The honeymoon is 5 days away, but doesn't feel like a reality at all.
Everyone's holding up well: my mom is completely calm and low key (she has taken this coming week off), my dad made an emergency trip to buy a suit today when he realized he had nothing that would match well, my brother has been helping a lot, and Brendan is a huge help and taking everything in stride.
Overall, we're all in good shape. Austin even got some rain last night, which meant that temperatures went from 106 yesterday to 94 today. We are happy that these "cooler" temperatures are predicted to stay (though my brother reminds me a forecast isn't very accurate this far out).
Well, here's to July and to this week; So far, wedding week is treating us well!
