Cooking at Home (And a Wine Club Giveaway) NOW CLOSED

We've been back home for a week now, and so far, we've had a homemade meal every single night. I love being back into the routine of cooking our own healthy meals. I always pick up a few pounds every summer while traveling, and cooking at home again (plus exercising) is the perfect way to lose them again.

Here's a look at a few of our homemade creations.
One night we made the Simply Light Basil Lime Stir Fry, and I doubled the recipe for the sauce. The next night, Brendan stir fried more veggies and cooked brown rice noodles and we used the leftover sauce. It was really delicious!

Using Farmer's market swiss card, eggplant, tomatoes, and herbs from our backyard, we threw together this great dish: baked eggplant, tomatoes with oregano, basil, sage, and rosemary, green beans, and swiss card (with garlic and onions). It was so good!

Last night, our mission was to use our farmer's market field peas, so Brendan made some BBQ tofu and brown rice to go with it.

All in all, our week has been delicious! And the perfect complement to our dinners is a nice glass of red or white wine. Club W is a monthly wine membership that sends members a customized box of 3 bottles of wine for $39 + $6 shipping. You always have the option to skip a month, and Club W is easy to work with; they refunded me money when I accidentally forgot to skip the month once, no questions asked. While Club W may be on the expensive side if you enjoy boxed wine like Brendan and I (ha!), I do have four free introductory boxes to give away for new members (NOTE: This requires winner to pay taxes + shipping...which I believe works out about $9.00, but you will be sent 3 bottles of wine valued at $13 each).

To enter, just leave a comment on this post, and let me know what your favorite kind of wine to enjoy with a homemade meal is. I'll use a random number generator to select 4 winners next Tuesday evening!

  1. I love to drink Malbecs because they are earthy and usually compliment the food that I eat.

  2. My go-to wine is a Riesling or Moscato. It is on the sweeter side but chilled it makes for a great wine in the heat of summer.

  3. You know I love a good Riesling!

  4. I'm a sucker for rose when it's hot out, but pinot noir is my go-to for cooking at home.

  5. Cabernet or Malbec! Or a very chilled sauvignon blanc if I'm having something light ;)

  6. Do I have to pick a favorite? I love them all!!
